WASC Accreditation Process

The purpose of this communication is to update you on our school’s accreditation process.

Since January 2017, Lincoln University administration has been working to protect the welfare of Lincoln University students and faculty in the context of the Institutional Accreditation and Specialized Program Accreditations:

  1. Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) Eligibility status was granted to Lincoln University in May 2017. The following August, we applied for the WSCUC initial accreditation, and in February 2018, we provided our full self-study report to the accrediting commission (about 3000 pages). The accreditation site visit is scheduled for April 17 – 19, 2018, and our accreditation status will be decided during a WSCUC meeting on June 28, 2018.
  2. To enhance the value of the university degrees we are also looking for the specialized programmatic accreditations:
    • By International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), one of the top three business studies program accreditors. We passed the first site visit, received the IACBE candidacy status, and expect to complete the process in November – December of 2018;
    • By Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), a highly regarded accreditor in this area of specialization will be initiated in the future.

It is appropriate to state that institutional and specialized program accreditation processes are lengthy. I plan to keep our students and other stakeholders at Lincoln University informed about any significant developments as we move forward in pursuit of the accreditations listed above.
